The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is there to catch the soot from going into the air. As this builds up in the DPF the back pressure will raise. When the DPF get "full" the it will go through a regeneration (regen) process. This is done by injecting raw diesel into the exhaust to raise the temperature in the DPF to burn off the soot. Hope This must be a failsafe to clear the DPF if normal driving does not start passive regen. In the past week I've done several hundred miles of high-speed, high rpm journeys (including one 40-mile stretch at a constant 2750rpm in 5th) so the DPF **should** be good and clear through passive regen.

Just to summarize, the new 2020 Ford 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V8 in the F-250 would go into the exhaust regen mode once every 497.5 miles, and each regen lasted for about 16.25 miles. Rod drives his

How Long Does a Manual Regen Take on a Duramax? A manual regen on a Duramax engine can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or longer depending on several factors. To begin the process, the vehicle must be driven for at least 10-15 minutes with a speed of 40 mph or higher.
DPF Regen- Forced by Vida. First I have to say, best thing I could have gotten for my V40 is the Vida Dice, life saver!!! So last nigh, heading home from work, just started driving and the message pops up " Partical Filter Full" and " Engine system Service required" and the car goes into Limp mode. Much less power.
In addition to replacing the filter, you should clean the rest of the system, including the DPF. The most common cause of Kubota regeneration problems is low oil levels. The engine will not start the regeneration process if the level is low. To avoid this issue, top up your oil level regularly. NLMhNSO.
