It was a shoe I was really looking forward to probing. Especially, because I have heard about it a lot of praise.
Widths available: Single. All that hype comes backed with solid substance. The Clifton rides incredibly well cushioned without feeling mushy, and very lightweight for a shoe which looks like a flotation device. Upper execution is a mismatch with its better half, with plenty of areas for improvement .
Conclusion. The Hoka Clifton 6 is a lightweight, middle of the pack type shoe. We recommend it for LSD (long slow distance), and recovery runs on days when your joints are asking for a little extra love. The maximally balanced cushion holds up over the long term, and the less-than-average weight is a pleasant surprise.
The Hoka One One Clifton 5 remains our favorite road model in the Hoka lineup. The minor improvements make it even more wearable. It is light, quick, responsive thanks to the meta rocker. While it has added a little weight on the mesh side, the knit are lighter. That being said, our vote goes to the mesh version.
