Oct 25, 2022 5:52 AM in response to the fiend. I, for one, do not want to update to a new major version until bugs have been worked out. For me that is a few minor updates in. I believe Apple released 15.7 and 16 simultaneously for this very reason. I guess the original question still stands.
15.7.7 update for iPhone 7s. Successfully updated my iPhone7s to 15.7.7. My spouse's as well. Now we have multiple issues happening that were non-issues before this update. Pizzalava2. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi, restart your iPhone and if the problem still persists go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > find iOS 15.7 and delete it and download it again in software updates.
ios update 15.7.3 has pretty much bricked my iPhone 7-plus. My iphone 7 plus was working great until 15.7.3 update now it's a mess. Can't answer calls -- no matter how may 'fixes' I try. My camera won't work properly. I restart the phone and it works 'once' for a call or a photo.. and then messes up on the next one, minutes later.
The 8 is the oldest iPhone able to update to iOS 16, so next year, it will probably drop off. My guess is updating to iOS 16 will exacerbate your performance problems, & probably tax your battery further. If you absolutely don't want to upgrade your phone, you might try a new battery, to see if that would help, but the inconsistent performance
When you go to the Software Update menu in the Settings app, your iPhone will prominently show the iOS 15.7.1 update. “Upgrade to iOS 16” appears as an alternative option.
